The Flatlander Car Club held its annual Westfield Shopping Center car show from Saturday.
“We have a beautiful bunch of 29 cars out here and it’s pretty a good show, Flatlanders Car Club President Chuck Johnson said.
This year, the Westfield Merchants Association donated five plaques for the first- through fifth-place finishers, and people registered for a ballot to vote for the winners, Johnson said.
Dave Hunt emerged as the winner.
“We have everything on display from the Ford Model T to some not very new but nice cars,” Johnson said. “Each person that registers the car for the show gets a ballot, and each car has a number on it, and the top five will win trophies.”
Cindy Hills’ “Pink Lady” 1967 Volkswagen Karmann Bug convertible attracted many visitors to the show.

Hill said she put a 1600 CC chrome engine in it and has had the car for four years.
“I think the color pink in a Volkswagen really attracts people,” Hill said. ” Last year Pink Lady had a prom date for the Ogallala prom so she’s just Unique.”
“My first car was a 1969 Volkswagen Bug,” Hill added. “I have always had a love for ‘Bugs.’ I have 1969, 1970 and 2018 at home so I collect them.”
Mike Browning and his wife and son said they came to the show to check out the cars.
“I grew up liking cars and wanted my son to enjoy and experience the same things I did,” Browning said.
Browning added that he hoped to see some good cars, project cars and finished cars and get to see the different ideas that people have.
