One year after its triumphant return to gaming consoles, EA Sports’ College Football video game is back for Round 2.
The trailer for EA Sports College Football ’26 dropped on Thursday morning, and I have never been more hyped after a video game trailer reveal — which is saying something after considering how geeked up I was for last year’s return. Check it out:
EA Sports College Football ’26 Trailer Drops
On the one hand, I feel as if sports video games peaked somewhere between 2003-2012. But on the other hand, I’m not sure that is possible when you see how much better graphics are in 2025. Holy smokes, this is well done all around. If this is what gameplay looks like, there will be a bunch of happy fans to see this new college football video game.
Of course, having Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” playing throughout the video trailer helps fire folks up for a new season of spending time gaming with the gang.
My favorite thing about the new-look EA Sports College Football video game series might be the attention to detail. The trailer shows coaches, stadium crowds, life-like overhead shots, and things such as the Akron Zips’ Turnover Tire:

Full disclosure: I ran to the stores to pick up last year’s game when it dropped in 2025, but didn’t play it as often as I would’ve liked. Between life changes, moving, and the start of a new Bears season, I had a lot on my plate. But I am soooo tempted to get on this again because it looks so sharp. Happy gaming, friends.
