Jeremiah Smith, Ryan Williams on cover of EA Sports College Football ’26
EA Sports chose Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith and Alabama’s Ryan Williams to be on the cover of College Football ’26. We talk to the athletes about what this moment means to them.
- EA Sports College Football 26 releases July 10, with early access on July 7 for deluxe and MVP bundle pre-orders.
- The game features over 2,700 new plays, 10,000 players and 300 coaches with accurate schemes.
We found out what the covers will look like earlier this week. Now, we’ve received our first peek at the sights and sounds of EA Sports College Football 26 gameplay after the trailer hit the web on May 29.
Clocking in a minute and 52 seconds, it opened with a shot of Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium, quickly pivoting to other stadiums around the country — Nebraska, Cal, Boston College.
It showcased the pregame traditions and team walk-outs of programs like Texas and Clemson before flipping through action clips, all with a dramatic voiceover and Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” playing in the background.
This will be the game’s second installment since its return in 2024 following an 11-year hiatus. EA Sports College Football 25 became the best-selling sports game of all-time in the United States.
So expectations are understandably high.

What are new features in College Football 26 video game?

Real coaches were not in last year’s game.
It promises a more realistic Wear & Tear system that is now fully customizable to your play style, allowing you to manage fatigue through “Dynamic Substitutions” without heading to the pause screen.
EA also reports improved coverage and blocking, with new tackle types on the way, too. The Stadium Pulse effects — like camera shaking and clock distortion — have been bumped up another notch in an effort to simulate those high-pressure rivalry games inside enemy territory.
A highly requested aspect, the Road to Glory mode will once again begin with your player in high school, which was not the case last year. Gamers can choose from 10 new player archetypes, and when ready to commit, your player will partake in a hat ceremony, picking up and putting on the cap of your future school. Just like the real world, a player can commit early — and then decommit if a better offer arrives.
