‘Cops N Kids’ Community Book Drive to be held at KWQC station

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – KWQC is joining Together Making a Better Community and the Davenport Police Department, to hold a Cops ‘n’ Kids Community Book Drive on June 6 at the TV6 studio.

Help us spread the love of reading by donating new and gently used books to the book drive.

According to organizers, all levels of books are needed, from baby board books up to teenagers’ chapter books. Diverse books are especially needed.

Donated books are available for free to kids at the library at TMBC and are handed out by the Davenport Police Community Impact Team at community events.

Viewers can drive up to the station at 805 Brady St. and drop off a children’s book or monetary donation from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

This year, all monetary donations are going to buying furniture to make a teen hangout area next to the library, organizers said. Currently, the furniture is toddler-sized. Checks must be made out to TMBC.

The Cops ‘n’ Kids book drive began in 2021.

2 Men and a Truck will provide the boxes and transport books from the drive.
