Volunteering with GBR Food Bank this summer

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – With the summer months straight ahead, there are plenty of opportunities for everyone to help the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. Its mission is to feed the hungry in Baton Rouge and the surrounding parishes by providing food and educational outreach through faith-based and other community partners.

Below are the different food sorting and repacking hours:

  • Monday-Friday: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Tuesday & Thursday: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
There are plenty of opportunities this summer to help out at the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.

In 2024, volunteers and GBR Food Bank staff helped distribute 12.8 million meals, 16.6 million pounds of food, with the help of 14,900 volunteers.
