Around 8:30 p.m. Monday, May 26, deputies were sent to the 3300 block of Coleman Ave. because a man was yelling at the caller.

According to court documents, the caller said he was in the front yard of a family member’s property with his children jumping on a trampoline.

While the kids were on the trampoline, the caller told police Wicker walked from his home on the other side of the street and began screaming at him and his kids.

The caller got his kids inside while Wicker reportedly yelled profanities and threats. The report says the caller also went inside.

The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office looked at security camera footage, which reportedly showed Wicker in the middle of the road yelling toward the home in a “highly aggressive manner,” according to a report filed in court.

The report says a responding deputy spoke to Wicker and noted seeing several cans of Keystone beer nearby.

When the deputy asked Wicker what happened, Wicker reportedly said he believed inappropriate things were happening with the caller and his children. He also said he acted the way he did to get police out to investigate the situation.

The deputy said Wicker showed signs of being highly impaired from alcohol, like slurred speech and bloodshot and glassy eyes. Court documents also claim there were several times Wicker would say incoherent things, like it was “dark for ten hours” when talking about the incident.

Wicker reportedly admitted to the deputy he drank between 10 and 20 beers throughout the day. When asked if things got out of hand, Wicker allegedly disregarded it.

After speaking with Wicker, the deputy asked the caller if he wanted to press charges. As the two spoke, Wicker reportedly continued yelling and being disorderly.

Wicker was later arrested for assault and disorderly conduct. As the deputy tried to put Wicker in his squad car, the deputy claimed Wicker continued to scream, refused to follow orders and threatened him.

Court documents says Wicker continued to be “belligerent” on the drive.

Once they got to the jail, the deputy said he kept Wicker in cuffs because of the alleged violent comments.

According to the report, the deputy and Wicker were waiting for the jail’s medical staff when Wicker allegedly aggressively stood up toward the deputy and threatened to bite his nose off.

The deputy said he believed Wicker could do that and took it as a threat of physical harm.

Wicker is scheduled to appear in court on July 3 for arraignment.
