Feast Down East to provide farm-fresh food in CSA boxes

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Feast Down East has announced Summer Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Box subscriptions are back open for residents to pick up locally grown produce.

A 10-week subscription can earn customers a spot to retrieve weekly CSA boxes of farm-fresh products from Southeastern North Carolina farms.

Each box will include blueberries, assorted peppers, squash, herbs, lettuce, peaches, and other seasonal goods. Full boxes contain 6–8 items; half boxes include 3–5 items.

CSA members can also add local eggs, meat, goat cheese, and honey.

The deadline to order is June 6, with a full box costing $400 and a half box costing $250. Anyone who subscribes for 10 weeks will have their boxes delivered from June 12 to August 14.

Order 6-week subscriptions by June 27; full boxes cost $275, half boxes cost $155. The delivery of boxes will occur between July 10 and August 14.

You can pick up your CSA Box at the following locations:

  • FDE’s Food Hub at the Historic Train Depot in Burgaw from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Sea Gate Baptist Church in Wilmington from 4 to 6 p.m.
  • Hi-Wire Brewing in Wilmington from 4 to 10 p.m. (limited spots)
  • The Veggie Wagon on Masonboro Loop from 4 to 8 p.m. (limited spots)
  • Brunswick Beer & Cider in Leland from 4 to 9 p.m. (limited spots)
  • Salt Marsh Market in Surf City from 3 to 9 p.m. (limited spots)
