
A 27-year-old Arlington man has been accused of assaulting a kid, threatening him and two other kids with a gun, and then trying to disarm an officer while getting arrested.
The alleged drunken incident happened Saturday afternoon near the Barcroft Apartments along Columbia Pike.

ATTEMPTED DISARMING OF A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, 2025-05240127, 4200 block of 12th Road S. At approximately 3:08 p.m. on May 24, police were dispatched to the report of a brandishing. Upon arrival, it was determined one juvenile male victim, and two juvenile male witnesses were outside when they were approached by the male suspect who engaged the group in conversation before allegedly assaulting the victim and displaying what appeared to be a firearm before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim and the witnesses ran from the area and called the police. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect in the 4800 block of Columbia Pike and issued commands. The suspect was initially non-complaint before officers took him into custody. During the course of the investigation, the suspect attempted to flee from officers and a struggle ensued during which the suspect attempted to grab an officer’s firearm. [The suspect], 27, of Arlington Va. was charged with Attempted Disarming of a Law Enforcement Officer, Assault and Battery and Public Intoxication.
