Not only are they talented NFL athletes, but Everett High School alums Mikey Sainristil and Isaiah Likely are even better people who make sure they give back to their community. This year marks the fourth annual Everett Legends football camp, a free two-day event where Sainristil of the Washington Commanders and Likely of the Baltimore Ravens work with kids from kindergarten through eighth grade.”At the end of the day, when you see those kids smile and look back at those moments that you had that day with those kids … those are special interactions that they will never forget,” Likely said. Surrounded by their former high school coaches and friends and even a few current NFL teammates, the Everett alums work for months to put together an experience that the community cherishes. “I can tell you that the kids that are gonna be in our program at Everett, they have been talking about this weekend for a couple of months,” said Everett football head coach Robert DiLoreto. “I do believe that this positivity will have a big impact on our season next year.”Sainristil and Likely look at the camp as an opportunity to be the heroes they wished to have when they were young.”When I was 13 or 14, if I was able to have free events thrown by guys who are where I want to be, I would do everything in my power to come out here and show that I could get there too,” Sainristil said.
