Barnum Festival concerts, car show coming to Z-Topia this weekend

MONROE, CT — This weekend families and friends can enjoy live music, classic cars and good food at Z-Topia, 1545 Monroe Turnpike, while supporting the annual Barnum Festival. Both concert nights are rain or shine, but the rain date for the car show is Sunday, June 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The fun starts on Friday with the Barnum Concert and Food Truck Festival from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. It costs $20 per person to attend and children younger than 12 are admitted for free. Parking is also free.

In addition to food trucks, the event will feature a beer and wine garden and other vendors.

Musical acts include big ’80s fun with Mullett and the high energy modern rock of special guest band, Bad Boy. The festivities start at 6:30 p.m. when Sandy Gonzalez-Quinonez sings the “National Anthem.” Mullett will perform at 8:30 p.m.

Then on Saturday, the 4th annual Barnum Festival Car Show: Meals, Wheels and Deals, will be held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. weather permitting (Rain date June 1). Admission is five dollars, children under 12 are admitted free and parking is free.

Aside from the car show, artisans will offer unique products for shoppers.

Registration for those displaying their vintage cars, trucks, motorcycles and other vehicles begins at 8 a.m. for $20 per vehicle.

On Sunday night, a Concert and Food Truck Festival will be held from 5 to 10:30 p.m. Southern Fried will perform at 6 p.m. and Hazzard County will play at 8 p.m.
