SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -The 42nd annual Mid-America Street Rod Nationals took place at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds this weekend.
The event showcased classic cars aged thirty years old and older. Around 1,100 cars, including street rods, custom cars, pick-ups, and muscle cars, were on display.
“We’re getting a lot of younger people that are actually starting to get into the older cars,” said Craig Meads, marketing director for National Street Rod Association, when asked about the classic car community.
Although severe weather may have hindered some, Meads was impressed by the turnout.
“Springfield has always been a great show for us. When the weather is cooperating, Glenstone and Kearney on Friday and Saturday nights are just crazy,” said Meads.
The event featured other activities like a vintage automotive parts swap meet and an arts and crafts show.
