The 78th Cannes Film Festival is ending today, with the last 10 days seeing a host of Indian faces, famous or not, making a beeline for the French Riviera. After Janhvi Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s winning appearances, it is Alia Bhatt, making her debut at the festival, who has been creating waves.
Alia, who is at Cannes as L’Oréal Paris’s global brand ambassador, wore a delicate Schiaparelli gown for her first look on the red carpet on Friday. For her second look of the evening at the L’Oreal — Lights on Women Awards, Alia opted for a sleek Armani Privè number in midnight blue. The custom off-shoulder outfit featured a body-hugging silhouette with a touch of mermaid flare at the hem that exuded modern glamour and elegance. The outfit was thoroughly embellished with beadwork, stones and sequins and had an interesting bodice that featured a border consisting of intricate blue and silver embellishments.
Alia, who has attended several international red carpets and shows by now, oozed confidence as she posed for the cameras. While the Internet is divided on her choice of headpiece, we totally heart it as it seamlessly coordinated with the gown’s embellishment. She rounded off her look with her current favourite dewy minimal make-up, using soft hues to enhance her features.
If she looked angelic in the corseted Schiaparelli gown, Alia’s second appearance in the Armani Privè creation was a perfect union of red carpet drama, glam and sophistication! While we wait for her other red carpet appearance at Cannes on the final day today, her two looks styled by Rhea Kapoor have definitely secured her a spot as one of the standout fashionable faces at Cannes this year.
