COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Aviation will host an expanded Aviation Day this year, as the free event will run two days at Columbus Municipal Airport and AirPark Columbus. Aviation Day 2025 is set for Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7.
This year’s theme, “Yesterday and Today,” blends both vintage aircraft and modern aviation technology.
Aviation Day activities kick off at 5 p.m. on Friday with displays of static aircraft and live music from Vinyl Escape. As the sun sets, Columbus will unveil its first drone show, blending storytelling, lights, and music. Participants can also expect a beer garden, food trucks, and interactive activities for kids.
On Saturday, June 7, the second day of the aviation celebration starts with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by free aircraft rides in a Huey helicopter, T-6 Texan, and a historic Stearman biplane. The event concludes with the “Yesterday and Tomorrow” car show, featuring a showcase of cars that highlights pre-1965 automobiles and modern, alternative-fuel-powered cars.
