Give Kids the World Village names new CEO

Give Kids the World Village in Kissimmee has announced that, effective June 9, Caroline Schumacher will join the village that provides wish vacations to terminally-ill children and their families as its President and CEO.

Schumacher, who currently serves as President and CEO of the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF), previous spent nearly two decades working with GKTW in volunteer services, guest services, and operations leadership.

“Caroline brings with her a powerful blend of passion, strategic leadership, and a deeply personal connection to our mission,” a GKTW release noted. “She currently serves as President & CEO of the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF), where for the last six years she has led the organization through a period of significant growth in partnerships and scholarship funding. Caroline’s return to Give Kids The World marks a meaningful full-circle moment rooted in service, compassion, and the values we hold dear.”

Schumacher is the permanent replacement for Pamela Landwirth, who “transitioned from her role” in January according to the company. Jordan Lomas, a member of the GKTW Board of Directors, served as the interim head until this latest announcement.

“I am deeply grateful to the ASF Board of Directors, Board of Trustees, staff, alumni and supporters. Stepping into the role at Give Kids The World feels like coming full circle — honoring (founder) Henri Landwirth’s vision in a new way, for a cause that has always been close to my heart.”

“Caroline brings a deep personal connection to the mission of Give Kids The World and a proven record of innovative leadership,” said John Nichols, Chairman of the Board for GKTW. “We are thrilled to welcome her as CEO and look forward to the next chapter of transformative growth and impact.”

Both ASF and GKTW were organizations that Henri Landwirth, a Holocaust survivor, helped establish.
