CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A recall was issued for baby food sold at a popular grocery store after the FDA found that the product may contain “elevated levels of lead” which could be toxic to children.
Popular grocery store Publix issued a recall for a flavor of GreenWise baby food pouches on May 9 due to possible contamination from lead.
The specific product recalled was: GreenWise Pear, Kiwi, Spinach & Pea Baby Food, 4 oz., GTIN: 41415-00901, Best If Used By: 11/01/2025.
“As part of our commitment to food safety, potentially impacted products have been removed from all store shelves,” said Maria Brous, Director of Communications at Publix. “To date, there have been no reported cases of illness.”
“Consumers who have purchased the product in question may return the product to their local store for a full refund.”
More information can be found on the Publix website.
