Antique car show draws hundreds to downtown New Bern

Downtown New Bern was bustling with activity as the 32nd Annual Antique Automobile Club of America Show took over the streets Saturday. The event featured over 200 classic cars, from Mustangs to Volkswagens, offering something for every car enthusiast.

The show, part of the North Carolina Region Show, attracted hundreds of attendees and participants from across state lines, filling Middle and Craven Streets with vintage vehicles and blocking most downtown roads.

The AACA First Capitol Chapter organized the event, which was hailed as a success by both representatives and attendees.

“People love parking in downtown New Bern, on the streets,” said Zachary Simons, president of the First Capitol AACA Chapter. “And enjoy the businesses that you can go into and support them and get some good food.”

Richard Does, a car show participant, shared his enthusiasm, saying, “It’s something that I enjoy, so um—I’m a mechanic by trade so, I come home and I just can’t stop!”
