EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Thousands of kids with disabilities got in on Holiday World’s Day of Play.
About 3,000 from different Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky counties enjoyed the rides, food and games.
It’s the 33rd year Holiday World has teamed up with Easterseals for the event.
Officials say it’s important for the kids to have full reign of the park with no other guests around.
“It’s a day for them they feel included. I know that they can meet other friends and family that they might not normally get to meet, and they come here each year and get to see each other and just hang out with each other and build a community outside of maybe their normal community,” says Sarah Mckeehan, coordinator for events at Easterseals.
Park officials say they are donating all of today’s admissions to Easterseals that’s around $40,000.
