Remastered and remade video games are all the rage right now, but those looking to really see where it all started can swing by Joseph Brant Museum this weekend for the Game Changers special exhibition.
Game Changers will feature original concept art, story boards, and scripts for some of the most important games ever made.
“Playing through this exhibition brought back a lot of childhood memories,” acting curator Lynna Nguyen said in a release. “I think families and visitors of all ages will enjoy the nostalgia!”
Guests will get to try their hand at games including Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros., Tetris, Angry Birds, Space Invaders, Flower, and Adventure. These titles vary in release date from as recent as 2009, to as far back as 1980 – before the original Nintendo Entertainment System.
Visitors will also be able to see how games have evolved from the 1970s classics like Pong to photo-realistic, immersive games of today. The Game Changers exhibition also features a giant size Nintendo controller and a test on classic game music.
The Game Changers exhibit opens Saturday, May 10, and runs until Saturday, Sept. 13 at Joseph Brant Museum.
