PHOTOS: North Montco Education Foundation Car Show revs into town

The North Montco Education Foundation held its fourth annual Car Show on Saturday on the grounds of North Montco Technical Career Center in Towamencin.

This annual event invited more than 100 participants and sponsors to display their prized vehicles, trucks, and demo equipment. Past events have featured engaging features such as the H&K simulator and Allen Myers tractors, among others, according to the Foundation website.

The show had six “Best Of” categories: Street Rods, Antique-Classic-Survivor, Muscle Cars, Trucks, Imports, and Custom/Modified Bodies.

NMTCC’s welding, auto body, and machining students crafted the first and second place trophies for the show.

Proceeds from the car show benefitted the North Montco Education Foundation, which was established five years ago. The funds raised help create opportunities for students to develop skills aligned with their career aspirations. Teachers are also encouraged to apply for Innovation.

According to its website, grants sponsored by the Car Show go to enhance classroom learning. Recent grant projects have included a trip for the Protective Services program to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, the use of AI in the classroom to enhance learning, and developing new Mechatronics models for hands-on learning. Last year, the Automotive and Auto Body/Collision Repair class received funding to convert a 1995 Toyota Corolla into a fully electric vehicle.

The foundation also supports students by covering the costs of industry-recognized certifications, licenses, hand tools, personal protective equipment, software, and participation in SkillsUSA and the Future Health Professions (HOSA) competitions, according to its website.
