Arrest made in Edenton Food Lion shooting

EDENTON, N.C. (WITN) – A man has been arrested following a shooting at a Food Lion in Edenton.

Police say 25-year-old Raymark Bembury faces multiple gun-related charges.

Sunday, just before 7 p.m., police went to a shooting that happened at the Food Lion off Virginia Road.

According to officers, two people were taken to ECU Health Chowan Hospital.

Police say the shooting is possibly gang-related. Warrants identified the victims as Jaquari Wilson and David Walton III.

Bembury was charged with the following:

  • Felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflicting serious injury
  • Felony assault with deadly weapon intent to kill
  • Felony possession of a firearm by a felon
  • Two counts of felony discharge of a firearm within an enclosure to incite fear.
  • Misdemeanor discharge of a firearm in city limits
  • Misdemeanor carry concealed gun
  • Misdemeanor going armed to terror of the public

The Edenton man was jailed on a $5-million bond.
