MARQUETTE COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) – Marquette County is once again participating in this year’s annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive.
To participate, all you have to do is leave a few non-perishable food items in a bag by your mailbox this Saturday. Mail carriers will collect the donations throughout their route. All the food will go to food pantries in the communities where the food was donated.
United Way of Marquette County Executive Director Andrew Rickauer says the event is an easy way to help feed a hungry neighbor.
“It’s so quick and easy to do,” said Rickauer. “It’s low effort, but [it has] just a high impact to really help the community and pantries out.”
The United Way is asking people to put all food donations into a sturdy bag that will be easy for collectors to carry. Collectors will not accept glass donations.
