Church holds fundraiser to help local food bank

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (KAIT) – First United Methodist Church in Walnut Ridge held their inaugural Burritos, Barbecue and Brunch event to help raise money for the local food bank.

People could buy a ticket and eat some good food. Senior Pastor, Jeremy Hopper said that the proceeds go to Lawrence Memorial Healthcare Food Bank.

“So we’re raising funds to provide a potential steer for our food bank to get some good quality meat for our local residents,” Hopper said. “All three are just wonderful things, we love to eat here and we all love to eat and so bringing those three things together and providing something for everyone opens the opportunity to raise funds.”

The event’s fundraising target was $1000 and they hope to hold this event for many years to come.
