LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – What has turned into an annual event at The Desert Research Institute did not disappoint again Thursday.
A thousand people registered to attend the May The Science Be With You.
Put on by DRI and the Atomic Museum, where the exhibits attracted people from all over.
“This is my second time coming,” said Makalea Garcia.
DRI has hosted this event for more than 10 years.
The Research Institute opens its doors to its exhibits and to some of it labs to help encourage people to see what science is all about, especially the students.
“They can see what a future in science might be like,” said Detra Page, DRI’s spokesperson.
Part of the event included Star Wars characters who invited people to participate in Padawan training with light swords.
