Detroit strip club shut down over video of kids partying inside, police say

DETROIT – A Detroit strip club has been shut down after police said they found video of children partying inside.

Video surfaced of more than 20 children partying inside the Legendary Sting strip club in the 6600 block of Michigan Avenue on Detroit’s west side.

A mother called police after finding cellphone footage of her child partying with other children — some as young as 14 years old, according to authorities.

Detroit police executed a search warrant Wednesday at the strip club and took all videos and recording equipment related to the case, they said.

“Let me be clear: We will not tolerate this in the city of Detroit — not at this establishment or any other establishment,” Detroit police Chief Todd Bettison said. “So to party promotors or anybody: If you’re going to have parties and entice our children into establishments and venues that are meant for adults, we will use every aspect of city government, the law department, the Wayne County prosecutor, etc., to shut you down.”

No arrests have been made, but police said they’re closely watching the party promoter responsible for the underage event.
