May 2025 is such a fantastic month of video game releases! There are so many games that could have been nominated as our runner-up this month. But we’re going with the generically titled Blades of Fire. It’s a new third person action IP from Mercury Steam, who developed the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow games, and the last two 2D Metroid games. Without further ado, here are The Top 5 Video Games Arriving in May 2025:
5. Lost Soul Aside – May 30
Lost Soul Aside is an action JRPG from new Chinese developer Ultizero Games. It looks incredibly gorgeous for a small dev studio, and borrows lots of aesthetics from Final Fantasy XV. Sony was so impressed with the small developer that they decided to publish Lost Soul Aside, and put their whole marketing machine behind it. It’s rare for a new IP to place high on a list like the Top 5 Video Games Arriving in May 2025. If Lost Soul Aside plays as good as it looks, we’re all in for a real treat. Lost Soul aside will be available for PS5 and PC.
4. Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time – May 21
Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is the sequel to Fantasy Life for the Nintendo 3DS. It’s been 13 years since developer Level-5 tackled the cozy life sim genre. What sets Fantasy Life apart from similar titles, like Animal Crossing, is it has lots of JRPG elements like combat and dungeon crawling. Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time was originally supposed to release in 2023, but was delayed several times. The built-up hype makes it an easy inclusion on the Top 5 Video Games Arriving in May 2025. Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time will be available for everything except Xbox One.
