Weeks and months go by and we still have no concrete news about Grand Theft Auto VI. Nevertheless, the mark left by its first trailer is still valid: one of the most watched videos in the history of YouTube, belonging to one of the most anticipated titles of 2025. And when it seemed that no one could surprise us with inspiration, Formula 1 arrives with an unexpected tribute.
The F1 promo inspired by GTA 6
Canal+ France unveiled their promo for this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix a few days ago, and from the first few seconds you can tell: it’s a love letter to the GTA 6 trailer. From the music to the framing and camera cuts, everything is reminiscent of the teaser released by Rockstar Games in December 2023.
Although, of course, the promo is limited to capturing the visual and aesthetic vibe of the trailer: there are no police chases, urban chaos or anything that clashes with the sporting spectacle it seeks to promote. Still, the result is as recognizable as it is creative.
Waiting for GTA 6
The great unknown of this fall 2025 remains the release of Grand Theft Auto VI. Although Rockstar remains absolutely silent, in recent months the CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, explained that its marketing strategy seeks to dose the progress and not show too much until the game is close to its release.
For now, the estimated fall release date has been maintained, which has caused nervousness in other companies. This is the case with Borderlands 4, which recently moved up its release date by two weeks. The fact that Gearbox – the studio behind the game – is also part of Take-Two only adds to the speculation: everything points to internal adjustments being made so as not to clash with the arrival of Rockstar’s next giant.
