The 27th annual News Radio 103.1 & 810 WGY and 99.5 The River Cares for Kids Radiothon iis set to take place on Thursday, May 1 & Friday, May 2, 2025 and celebrates the strength and bravery of local children and their families cared for at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center.
For these two days, listen to more than a dozen families share their personal stories about the difficult conditions that brought them to the children’s hospital, like Ethan Spalten who is the 2025 Miracle Child Champion, and how the care by the team of dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff members gave families like the Spalten’s, comfort, hope, and positive outcomes.
Event proceeds benefit the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital and with the community’s generous support, it allows them to continue care close to home, as funds raised go directly to the programs, advanced technology, staffing, research, and more at the Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Barbara Ostrov, Chief of Service, Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital shared with CBS6:
The [Bernard & Millie Duker] Children’s Hospital is the only local children’s hospital in 25 counties, you never know when you’re going to need us, we have every specialty you could possibly need to take care of your sick or injured child. All funds raised during this event stay right here in the Capital Region to support kids and families and all the programs and services to keep kids healthy and well.
