Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co (SAM) advised Power Finance on a INR4,929 crore) INR49.29 billion (USD579.88 million) loan to Juniper Green Stellar for the development of a solar-wind hybrid renewable energy project incorporating a battery energy storage system (BESS).
The current project comprises 468.30MW of wind capacity, 265 MW/397.5 MWp of solar capacity, and 103MW/206MWh of BESS capacity, and is located in the city of Barmer, Rajasthan, and the city of Devbhumi Dwarka, Gujarat.
SAM partner Anurag Dwivedi led the transaction team, supported by principal associate Prince Singh and associate Amitanshu Saxena.
Juniper Green Stellar’s in-house legal team handled the transaction. In-house counsel also represented the project sponsors, Juniper Green Energy.
Juniper Green Energy is an independent renewable energy power producer and operator, specialising in solar, wind and hybrid power projects. Power Finance is an Indian public sector undertaking providing financial support to the local energy sector, and operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power.
