Kibu: An Adventure Game With Farming & Exploration Elements

Solo game developer Studio Inkyfox is the creator of Omno, a single-player adventure released in 2021 and received very positive reviews. Recently, they’ve revealed a clip showcasing the beautiful worlds of their next project, Kibu.

The clip features a brief exploration of a player-controlled character, a fluffy red panda Monk, who can run, jump, and roll over with smooth, natural movement. The environment is captivating, featuring elements of Japanese culture such as the Torii gate and Sakura trees presented in vibrant, cozy colors. The rivers, a tiny waterfall, the pebble path, and wavering grasses blend together to create a peaceful atmosphere.

“Kibu is a tranquil adventure in the heart of the wilderness. As a solitary monk, you must rebuild your temple, brew delicious teas, and journey into the wilds seeking out ancient spirits,” reads the game description. As you explore the mysterious areas, you will uncover hidden secrets and unravel stories, encountering hostile foes that can be tackled with a tactile, flowing combat system. The items you collect along the way can be used to bring the sanctuary, which has been turned from the ruins of a long-forgotten temple, to life.

The reveal trailer released last June provided more insights into its gameplay, including farming elements that allow you to cultivate the plot using a hoe and water the crops, collect mushrooms, and build parts, such as fences, water wells, paved paths, installed lights, and more. In your spare time, you might also enjoy practicing kung fu or fishing.
