Blended finance ‘transformational’ but currently ‘underutilised’, says report

Blended finance is one of the best ways to channel capital into emerging markets for tackling climate change and alleviating poverty, but it is currently “underutilised”, says a report by British International Investment, the development finance institution of the UK government, and global consultancy Boston Consulting Group.

Blended finance brings together public, philanthropic and private capital into a single investment structure. This creates opportunities for investors in markets that are “often overlooked” by private capital, says the report.
