American Association of Commercial Finance Brokers Announces New Board Members and Legal Counsel

The American Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (AACFB) announced the election of new additions to the AACFB Board of Directors and the election of a new Vice President during the recent AACFB Annual Conference in Las Vegas. The association proudly installed its new Board of Directors and introduced its new legal counsel.

The AACFB welcomed two newly elected Directors at Large to the AACFB Board: Ishmael McGhee of Equitable Commercial Lending Group and Troy Vosberg, CLFP, of Finance Scope. In addition, Liz Poventud of Innovative Capital Corp. was appointed to complete the term of Megan Eddings, who stepped down following a change in employment. Also announced was the election of Katie Baker, CLFP, with MC2 Finance as the new Vice President and Dennis Dressler of Dressler & Peters, LLC as the new AACFB Legal Counsel.

AACFB President, Kalah Sprabeary, CLFP, of HUB Funding Solutions, shared her enthusiasm, stating, “I am thrilled to welcome Liz, Ishmael, and Troy to the Board of Directors. Each brings unique perspectives, fresh ideas, and incredible energy to our leadership team. I also want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Past President Roderick Knoll, CLFP, for his unwavering dedication and outstanding service to the AACFB. His contributions have truly made a lasting impact on our association. Additionally, I look forward to working with Dennis as our new legal counsel. He will be a valuable resource for our board and members.”

Ishmael McGhee has over 20 years of experience in commercial finance and banking, and currently serves as the Managing Director of Equitable Commercial Lending Group, where he specializes in equipment loans and is known for his transparent, client-focused approach. Before founding the firm in 2020, he held senior roles at institutions such as First National Bank of Omaha, First Midwest Bank, and NB&T, with expertise in business development, cash and risk management, and strategic operations. Ishmael holds a B.A. in Business Administration and Management from North Park University and is deeply committed to community leadership, currently serving on the board of the DeKalb County Economic Development Corporation and formerly contributing as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Sycamore and Treasurer for Community Coordinated Child Care (4-C). His career reflects a strong dedication to both business success and economic development.

Liz Poventud, President of Innovative Capital Corp., brings 30 years of experience in the leasing and financing industry, where she has built a reputation as a trusted professional committed to helping businesses access the capital they need to thrive. Known for her creative problem-solving and dedication to client success, Liz is passionate about building strong, lasting relationships. Prior to her current position, Liz served as Operations Manager for American Express where she was responsible for overseeing the credit department, payroll, funding department, and sales force. Outside of her professional life, Liz is a proud wife, empty nester, and mom to a college student—as well as a devoted dog mom to the world’s cutest Yorkiepoo. She loves the outdoors, traveling, discovering new foods, and is an enthusiastic networker who finds joy in connecting with people and creating opportunities.

Troy Vosberg is the founder and President/CEO of North American Equipment Solutions, dba Finance Scope, which launched in 2018 to deliver innovative financing and leasing solutions to agriculture, construction, and forestry dealerships across the U.S. and Canada. With a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, Troy began his career as a Finance and Insurance Manager in the automotive industry before moving into the equipment finance space with Titan Machinery, where he served as Finance Director for U.S. operations and Co-Chair of the CaseIH Dealer Advisory Board’s Finance Committee. Over his 24-year career in financing and leasing, Troy earned his CLFP designation in 2023 and has built Finance Scope into a trusted partner for over 600 dealer groups, offering a streamlined, “one-stop” portal for equipment financing. Personally, Troy lives in Wahpeton, ND, with his wife of 22 years, Mary, and their two sons. He is actively involved in his community through coaching sports and serving as Treasurer for the Wahpeton Baseball Association, and he enjoys golfing, hunting, fishing, and family time.

Dennis Dressler is a seasoned attorney known for his business-minded approach to law, with a career focused on resolving complex litigation, bankruptcy, and transactional matters across industries including aviation, medical, energy, construction, and transportation. Dennis serves as national counsel to publicly traded companies as well as middle market firms, and startups. His litigation background informs his transactional work, giving him unique insight into contract drafting and enforcement. He has successfully handled cases in nearly every state and played key roles in high-profile bankruptcies and commercial disputes. Dennis frequently speaks at industry events and contributes to trade publications, while also dedicating time to pro bono work for families of children with developmental disabilities. He holds a J.D. from St. Louis University. Outside of work, Dennis enjoys playing classical and flamenco guitar, road biking, and community involvement.
