SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Junior Achievement of South Dakota hosted their JA Finance Park on Friday, April 25.
The JA Finance Park is an event where students get the chance to learn about finances in an immersive way
Throughout the day, students learned about setting up savings, budgeting, debit and credit, and more.
“So students come in and receive a life scenario with a career and a family. They might be married, they might have kids. Then they get to go around and work with 20 different volunteers from the community to learn about how to budget for housing and groceries and vacations and charitable giving and all the things that adults plan for every month,” said Junior Achievement of SD President and CEO, Kayla Eitreim.
“It’s fun because you get to learn how it is in real life. Like how much money you make and how different it is,” said Patrick Henry Middle Schooler Celia Martin.
