TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – The offices of Mize CPAs transformed into a kid-friendly wonderland for Take Your Kid to Work Day.
The morning began with breakfast and a building tour, where kids learned more about the company and accounting industry.
Kids then got to enjoy spaces designed just for them. Mize CPAs’ conference rooms and offices became the ultimate fun zones with games, snacks and baby goats to snuggle with, courtesy of a Mize CPAs employee.
Martie Rison is the Marketing and Communications Manager at Mize CPAs and said they’re excited to offer the kids a special day like this.
“I want them to have bragging rights,” Rison said. “That they went and did this today while everyone else was doing something else in a quiet, stuffy, boring office. Here, they get to do all these activities all morning and then they have lunch with their parents… and learn what they do individually for Mize, and for our clients.”
She said Mize CPAs is one big family, and that she’s proud of its positive office culture and work-life balance.
This is their 7th annual Take Your Kid to Work Day event. She hopes it can teach kids more about careers in accounting and show them that work can be fun.
“Some of the kids that started coming and participating as 10-year-olds are about to start college,” Rison said. “So it’s fun to see them thinking about what career they want to do, and maybe if they decide to go into accounting, they’ll remember us and come back here.”
