
The South Carolina Dept. of Social Services announced Marsh 31 the arrest of a Beaufort couple on food stamp fraud charges.
Special Agents with the South Carolina Department of Social Services and the Office of Inspector General arrested a Beaufort County couple March 31 in connection with fraudulently receiving $20,369.00 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, according to a Department of Social Services news release.
Dennis Lee Phillips Jr., 42 and Jennifer Nichole Phillips, 44, were each charged with one (1) count Fraudulent Acquisition or Use of Food Stamps, greater than $10,000. Both individuals were booked at the Beaufort County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 14th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
