Fargo man reportedly dances in window while barricading kids in apartment

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Court documents reveal new details about a Fargo man’s arrest Tuesday night after barricading himself and two children inside an apartment.

The Fargo Police Department says they were called to the 2600 Block of 14 St. S around 10 p.m. April 22nd.

Police say it was reported that 33-year-old Santiago Resendez Jr. had made threats to a woman inside the apartment before she exited the building. The court documents reveal he threatened to kill her.

In the court documents, the victim says Resendez Jr. came home intoxicated and broke the door. She escaped by climbing through a window and calling police, telling two boys to wait in the bedroom. The documents state she hid outside near a dumpster waiting for police to arrive.

Fargo Police called in the Red River Valley SWAT team to help bring Resendez Jr. into custody. Officers say he refused to come out of the apartment and could be seen dancing in front of the window and playing loud music while refusing to comply.

Police say he was taken into custody around 12:32 a.m. and transported to the Cass County Jail for terrorizing.

Resendez Jr. is facing two counts of terrorizing and is due back in court May 29th.
