DFL Files Campaign Finance Complaint in SD6 Special Election after Keri Heintzeman Blatantly Breaks Campaign Finance Laws

Contributions limits are set at $1,000 per donor, but Heintzeman accepted $2,000 from nine separate donors

ST. PAUL – Today, the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party filed a campaign finance complaint after Keri Heintzeman – the Minnesota GOP candidate to replace Justin Eichorn (R-Grand Rapids) – blatantly violated campaign finance law by ignoring campaign contribution limits. State law bars candidates from accepting more than $1,000 per donor, but Heintzeman accepted double that amount from nine separate donors.

“It’s no surprise that someone who was at the Capitol on January 6 doesn’t respect Minnesota’s election laws,” said Minnesota DFL Chair Richard Carlbom. “Keri Heintzeman broke the law to advance her campaign and has no business serving in the Legislature.”
