Bronc Vineyard, Arvada – Clearmont High School Junior, was recently honored with the “National High School Spirit of Sport Award,” from the NFHS, (National Federation of State High School Associations.)
On Thursday, August 24, Commissioner Trevor Wilson of WHSAA (Wyoming High School Athletics Association) presented the award at an event that included the entire student body at the school.
Wilson introduced the award, saying that each state has the option to nominate students they think are deserving. “Mrs. Betz nominated Bronc for this award,” Wilson said. “We had several others and we chose Bronc as our representative from Wyoming.”

Vineyard commented about the award and what it meant to him.
In 2023, Vineyard was diagnosed with leukemia but is now leukemia free. After he recovered, he joined his teammates on the A-C Panther basketball team, playing during the 2024 season.

At the reception, his basketball teammate, Ian Andreen, said that during his fight against the disease, Bronc was out of athletics for a while,
Andreen added that when Bronc came back, he always gave everything on the court. During the Little Six Tournament there were only six players on the Clearmont team, and Bronc gave everything he had.
Vineyard talked about the award and what school spirit meant to him.
Vineyard said the school and the small-town support for him during his journey with leukemia was incredible.

Vineyard added he was surprised to be the recipient of the award.
He is the son of the late Toby Vineyard and Amy Bohlmann Vineyard of Clearmont.
