It’s a short week so we’re keeping it direct. I’ve got three spots today for you to check out.
Amber and Michael Kelly are whipping up some wicked fried fare at the Thyme Traveling Food Truck. Over in Bridgewater, Crispi’s Restaurant lets you pair some Italian classics with acoustic tunes. And in East Bridgewater, pop by Perfectly Flavah’D Cafe on Saturday, April 26 to help celebrate the restaurant’s fifth anniversary.
Fun fact: did you know that the fifth anniversary of something is the “wooden” anniversary? If you miss it, don’t worry, owner Dave Casey said he plans on sticking around long enough to celebrate the restaurant’s tenth anniversary. That one’s called the “aluminum” anniversary, in case you were wondering.
All right, I’ll stop rambling. Here’s what I’ve got for you this week:
Perfectly Flavah’D Cafe, East Bridgewater
Better late than never.
That’s the mindset at Perfectly Flavah’D Cafe in East Bridgewater this weekend. The cafe opened in 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, chef and owner Dave Casey never hosted an official grand opening celebration. Now, five years later, the cafe is using its five-year anniversary as a reason for celebration.
“It’s been a wild ride,” he said.
Casey, a Brockton native, has planned quite the fanfare for the Saturday celebration. There will be raffles for giveaway baskets. There will be complimentary face painting from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will even be a prize wheel to spin once you make a purchase at the cafe. Plus, if you’re hungry for cake, Montilio’s will be providing a sheet cake big enough to serve everyone.
For those who’ve never made it to the cafe, Casey describes it best.
“It’s a small little homey restaurant,” he said. “It has a comfy feeling. Anybody can come in here. It’s almost like an extension of our home.”
Stop by Perfectly Flavah’D Cafe at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26 for the celebration, located at 224 North Bedford St. in East Bridgewater.
Thyme Traveling Food Truck
If it’s good food, Thyme Traveling Food Truck probably offers it. I’m not kidding either. They’ve got a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, birria tacos, BBQ ranch chicken mac and cheese, white truffle parmesan fries all inside an adorable neutral-yellow, floral-patterned food truck where it all happens.
It’s family-owned and operated by Amber and Michael Kelly, the wife-husband tandem behind the operation. Michael scratch makes everything in the truck and Amber does everything else. Thyme Traveling Food Truck is — well — always traveling, so be sure to follow their Instagram and Facebook pages to stay up to date on their whereabouts. As for this week, though, we’ve got you covered.
It doesn’t matter where you are. Odds are, Thyme Traveling Food Truck is going to be close to you at some point this week.
- Thursday evening, April 24, they’ll be at 65 Pottle St. in Kingston for Food Truck Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- On Friday, they’ll be at 143 Longwater Drive in Norwell from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Then, they’ll be rounding out the week at the Hanover Crossing Earth Day Festival on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1775 Washington St. (Yes, that address is real.)
Crispi’s Restaurant, Bridgewater
Dinner and a show? What if you could check off both boxes in the same place.
On Friday, April 25, swing by Crispi’s Restaurant in Bridgewater between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Obviously, you’re welcome to come earlier, but from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Duo Acoustic will be performing at Crispi’s during the dinner rush.
So while you’re treating your ears to some acoustic melodies, treat your tastebuds to some wonderful Italian food, because Crispi’s has plenty of that too. They boast staples like bruschetta and veal parmesan but their menu also gives you a chance to try something you maybe haven’t had before. Try their crab stuffed mushrooms and if you’ve never blessed yourself with butternut squash ravioli, please, please, please take this as an opportunity to do so.
Crispi’s is located at 136 Broad St. in Bridgewater and is open Wednesday through Saturday from 5-9:30 p.m.
