After Nintendo confirmed that it would not be raising prices on Switch 2 the way it did on the accessories, we also got confirmation that it would be holding strong on Switch 2 exclusive games and the Switch 2 Edition releases as well. Donkey Kong Bananza, Mario Kart World, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild Switch 2 Editions, as well as Kirby and The Forgotten Land and Super Mario Party Jamboree Switch 2 Editions, both with the already announced expansion packs, are all going to be big ticket items that are going up for pre-order tonight alongside the console.
Nintendo Switch 2 game pre-orders:
- Donkey Kong Bananza $69
- Mario Kart World $79
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 Edition $79
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the WildSwitch 2 Edition $69
- Super Mario Party Jamboree Switch 2 Edition $80
- Kirby and The Forgotten Land Switch 2 Edition $79
- Street Fighter 6 $60
- Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion $70
- Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma $70
- No Sleep For Kaname Date $50
The prices were already a bit of a shock to many when they were first announced on many of these titles, but at least they are staying put for now. All of that said, many of the biggest releases Nintendo has already confirmed as day one Switch 2 launch games (or those releasing soon after like Donkey Kong Bananza) are indeed going up for pre-order alongside the consoles tonight and we wanted to touch down to make sure you were fully aware of where to find them and the prices you’ll be paying.
There are a few things to keep in mind here. First the price, they are essentially the same everywhere tonight but you will find that Walmart is, as per usual, undercutting the rest by $1 on many of the biggest exclusives. That said, $1 surely isn’t enough to mess around here – things could sell out quick and the $1 likely isn’t enough to take any chances (get’em however you can).
More importantly than any of that is this – you certainly don’t want to get caught missing out on the actual Switch 2 console pre-order trying to get the accessories and extra games in your cart at the same time. Even if there is a particular title you have your eye on, chances are stock on the consoles and especially the Mario Kart Wold bundle is going to be much harder to come by than the games (you can always go digital on some of them after all), so our recommendation is to focus on the console first and foremost.
