LEWISTOWN — Altoona defeated Mifflin County 3-1 Mid-Penn action on Wednesday in high school baseball action.

Nick Kraft’s one-out, two-run double in the fifth inning broke a 1-1 tie. Gavin Albright and Connor Pike each collected two hits for Altoona, while Aaron Smearman threw five shutout innings of relief to pick up the win.

SPRING MILLS — EJ Ulery worked five innings and struck out six, and helped out his own cause with two hits and two RBIs as Hollidaysburg beat Penns Valley, 13-3.

Robbie Mullen added three hits and an RBI for the Golden Tigers (8-3), who led 8-3 after two innings. Teammates Brady Steiner, Gavin Bell, Ty Szynal and Donald Miller added two hits each.

North Star shines

FLINTON — Glendale fell to 0-10 with an 11-0 loss in six innings to North Star.

Levi Hamilton had two of the Vikings’ five hits.

Brady Meyers led North Star (2-6) with three hits — including two homers — and four RBIs. Teammates Andrew Retassie had three hits and an RBI while Noah Lasky added two hits and two RBIs.
