WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WJAR) — Pothier-Citizens’ Elementary School in Woonsocket celebrated the opening of an in-school food pantry Wednesday.
Stop & Shop donated $10,000 to help the school purchase items for the students.
Approximately 70% of students attending the school come from low-income households.
Former Red Sox pitcher and current NESN Red Sox analyst Lenny DiNardo also led a 20-minute outdoor exercise and stretch session for all students and faculty.
