A video game showdown at the Millcreek Mall is offering over $4,000 in prize money to contestants registered to play popular fighting games.
The Rust Belt Showdown 3, presented by Next Level Gaming, is set to take place at the Millcreek Mall at 345 Millcreek Mall Blvd. on April 26 starting at 10:30 a.m.
The tournament will be held at the southwest corner of the mall in the former A.C. Moore site between Guitar Center and Dick’s Sporting Goods.
The Rust Belt Showdown includes a schedule of fighting video games from Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mortal Kombat 1, Ultra Street Fighter IV and more.
Rust Belt’s venue will utilize a dedicated space for tournament setups and matches that will keep the brackets moving quickly and efficiently.
How to register for Rust Belt Showdown 3
Both the early-bird and standard registration prices have expired for the tournament but emergency registration is still open until the day of the tournament.
The registration fee is $45 and a separate bracket entry fee is $10 to enter the select game or games of your choosing. The event is free to spectators.
All entry fees are non-refundable.
Video game schedule
The fighting video game tournament will begin at 10:30 a.m. on April 26. Here is when each game will begin:
- 10:30 a.m.: Super Smash Bros. Melee
- 11:30 a.m.: Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
- 12:30 p.m.: Exhibition, challenges and money matches
- 1:30 p.m.: Ultra Street Fighter IV
- 2:30 p.m.: King of Fighters XV
- 3:30 p.m.: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- 4:30 p.m.: Street Fighter 6
- 5:30 p.m.: Mortal Kombat 1
- 6:30 p.m.: Tekken 8
Pot bonuses and awards at Rust Belt Showdown 3
While the video game tournament gathers sponsors, spectators and contestants are encouraged to contribute towards a pot bonus towards their favorite tournament game.
The tournament’s website listed the following prizes as of April 22:
- Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3: first place $140, second place $40, third place $20.
- Ultimate Street Fighter IV: first place $140, second place $40, third place $20.
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: first place $500, second place $250, third place $100.
- Super Smash Bros. Melee: first place $120, second place $60, third place $20.
- Street Fighter 6: first place $330, second place $120, third place $90.
- Tekken 8: first place $550, second place $200, third place $100.
- Guilty Gear Strive: first place $280, second place $80, third place $40.
- King of Fighters V: first place $140, second place $40, third place $20.
The prize totals are subject to change and based on the number of entries for each game.

Dedicated casual space at Rust Belt Showdown 3
New at this year’s tournament is a dedicated space for friendlies. All participants in this space are welcome to bring their own consoles, monitors and televisions to set up their own games freely.
