New York International Auto Show spotlights innovations in automotive industry

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The 2025 New York International Auto Show is underway, showcasing the latest innovations in the automotive industry.

Industry expert Mike Caudill highlighted the significance of the event, noting its status as the premier auto show in the United States and celebrating its 125th anniversary.

“This is such a huge one, and I know that sounds kind of like hyperbole, but it really is massive,” said Mike Caudill, an industry expert and longtime friend of the show.

A major theme of this year’s show is ‘Made in America’ with several manufacturers highlighting their domestic production capabilities.

Lucid, a company manufacturing in Arizona, is showcasing a 450-mile range electric SUV that features a three-row seating arrangement and a digital cockpit.

Subaru is presenting two vehicles: the seventh-generation Outback, which features a redesigned exterior and interior, and the Trail Seeker, a prototype electric vehicle capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds.

Hyundai unveiled the new Palisade SUV, designed for off-road adventures with upgraded suspension and all-terrain tires.

The Honda Passport Trail Sport also made its debut, featuring an aggressive design and off-road capabilities.

Ram introduced the 1500 RHO model, boasting a twin turbocharged engine and performance seats, while Ford showcased the iconic Mustang, celebrating its 61-year legacy with a new model priced at $32,000.

Genesis announced a new IMSA race program, adding to the excitement of the show with their racing vehicle display.

The New York Auto Show continues to be a pivotal event for the automotive industry, blending rugged capabilities with luxury and highlighting the versatility of modern vehicles.
