UPPER MICHIGAN, (WLUC) – Families experiencing food insecurity in Marquette and Baraga Counties Wednesday with the help of Feeding America West Michigan and its mobile food pantry.
Yoopers United volunteers will help distribute food in KI Sawyer at the corner of Avenue C and Third Street beginning at noon Eastern time. The organization is also seeking additional volunteers for the event. People interested can sign up here.
The second event is in the north parking lot of the Ojibwa Casino in Baraga. Food distribution there also begins at noon Eastern time. Both pantries are drive-thru events. If a family is unable to get to the pantry, stand-ins can pick up food for them. Stand-ins are able to get food for up to six families.
On arrival, they may be asked for the name, address, and household size for any family they’re picking food up for.
The full schedule for Feeding America West Michigan’s mobile food pantry can be found here.
