Players will be back inside the Virginia Mason Athletic Center next week and after the free agents had some time to settle in, they also had time to choose their jersey numbers.
Two of the most highly anticipated reveals of jersey numbers have already been announced with quarterback Sam Darnold wearing No. 14 this season, a number he’s worn throughout his entire football career from high school to college and throughout his different stops in the NFL.
And during Cooper Kupp’s introductory press conference, he revealed that he’d wear the No. 10 jersey and he had to do some negotiating with Uchenna Nwosu, who previously wore No. 10. Kupp donated to Nwosu’s foundation in exchange for the jersey number.
Each free agent signing chose an available jersey number and some current Seahawks made changes in their jersey numbers.
DE DeMarcus Lawrence will wear No. 0 and Marquez Valdes-Scantling will wear No. 1
Some notable shifts in current Seahawks players jersey numbers include Olu Oluwatimi switching from No. 51 to No. 55 and Sam Howell switching from No. 6 to No. 2. And with Howell making the jersey switch, the Seahawks most recent addition to the quarterback room, Drew Lock will wear No. 6.
