KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Geeks for Kids Charity Auction is live and is hosted in partnership with Equip-Bid Auctions.
It offers a way for the community to support children who have limitations with moving. The online event raises funds to build custom electric cars and other devices for kids who would otherwise have to watch from the sidelines.

The auction runs through May 3. Items in the auction include:
- A 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible
- A private flight and BBQ experience
- premium Royals tickets, including games against the Yankees and Dodgers
- An executive suite for a Sporting KC game
- gift cards
- golf outings
“The freedom to race around and play like other kids changes our kids’ lives,” said Rebecca Kidwell, President of LEARN, the nonprofit behind the Geeks for Kids program. “As they explore their world, they grow stronger physically, connect socially, and wire up their brains. This auction makes that possible. Every dollar we raise gives a child with movement limitations the #Power2Play.”

Almost 300 children have received custom-designed rideable cars through the program since 2019. On June 1, an additional 80 kids will experience movement when they receive their vehicles on the program’s Delivery Day.
All proceeds, including the buyer’s premium, go directly to LEARN’s Geeks for Kids Program. More can be learned here.
