Nintendo Switch 2
Release date: June 5
Our shopping editors recently tested the Switch 2 at Nintendo’s private preview in Los Angeles on April 11 at CBS Studios’ Television City. The new console screen is larger and brighter than the first-gen Switch and the OLED edition and has the same matte feel, while the Joy-Con 2 controllers felt thinner and more ergonomic with rounder edges. We liked the Joy-Con 2’s new mouse control feature that lets you glide the controller along a table, mouse pad or even your legs for a new type of game play. We tried the feature out while playing Nintendo’s new “Drag & Drive” wheelchair basketball sports game, and found the rolling motion easy to learn.

The Joy-Con 2 also boasts stronger, more dynamic and responsive haptic feedback. For instance, Nintendo’s “Welcome Tour” game lets you use the controllers as maracas to feel the sensation of the beads shifting weight.
