
RAYMOND, MINN. (Valley News Live) – A Boyd man is being held in Kandiyohi County Jail after fleeing from authorities Saturday night.
According to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, a truck being driven by a 40-year-old man from Boyd, had entered a construction zone illegally. A Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on the truck, but the driver fled westbound on Highway 23.
The pursuing deputy observed children in the vehicle at the time of the stop. The driver of the truck had called 911 stating that he had his 6-and 10-year-old boys in the truck with him.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Kandiyohi County Telecommunicators were able to keep the man on the phone during the pursuit.
Deputies communicated with the driver through dispatch, and he agreed to pull over safely.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the incident was eventually deescalated, and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. No injuries or property damage occurred as a result of the pursuit.
The driver is facing pending charges of fleeing, child endangerment, and driving around a barricade.
