MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio – Despite relocating the annual Middleburg Heights community Easter egg hunt due to rainy weather, kids and their families still had a great time Saturday morning (April 19) from inside the recreation center as they collected candy-filled plastic eggs and hoped for a prize ticket.
Sponsored by Kiwanis International and the city of Middleburg Heights, the event included children from wee little to 10 years old. An adaptive hunt was also provided for children with disabilities.

Mayor Matt Castelli counted down to the start for each age group, while Recreation Director Mark Elliott kept the large crowds informed.
“The kids love it, and we want to make sure we provide them opportunities to enjoy Easter,” Castelli said.

Students from Berea-Midpark Middle School’s Builders Club and the Berea-Midpark High School Key Club assisted during the hunt.

“I think it’s so fun to see all the kids,” BMHS senior and Key Club member Rory Fronek said. “They all just look so happy.
“They are making great memories.”
