A guide to Milwaukee-area farmers markets open in 2025

Farmers markets offer more than just fruits and vegetables under their tents. Traditionally markets provide agricultural products and seasonal produce from area farmers, but many markets have expanded offerings to include meats and dairy, prepared foods, and even provide food samples and cooking instruction. And purchasing food at a farmers markets can stretch your grocery dollars if you participate in the FoodShare match program, with some markets accepting EBT/SNAP and WIC/Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program checks.

Use this guide to find a farmers market in your neighborhood, and taste what they have to offer this summer.

Milwaukee County

Brown Deer Farmers Market: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays, June 25-Oct. 15. The market closes at 2 p.m. during the month of October. Farm produce, prepared foods and beverages, food trucks, and community organizations. Village Park and Pond, 4920 W. Green Brook Drive, Brown Deer.

Cathedral Square Market: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays, June 1-Oct. 12 (no market July 20 or Oct. 5). Produce, locally made crafts and specialty foods, free wellness and fitness classes, and local musicians performing every week. Cathedral Square Park, 520 E. Wells St., Milwaukee.

Fondy Farmers Market: 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, May 10-June 28 (early season); 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays, and 9 a.m. to noon Thursdays, July 5-Oct. 30 (regular season); 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays Nov. 1-15 (late season). The market begins its 108th year of service with more than 80 farmers and local food producers. 2200 W. Fond du Lac Ave., Milwaukee.

Fox Point Farmers Market: 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays, June 14-Oct. 11. Vendors offer fruit and vegetables, meat, poultry, eggs, fish and cheese. Additional products include baked goods, jam, honey, syrup, sauces, soup and other prepared foods. North Shore Congregational Church parking lot, 7330 N. Santa Monica Blvd., Fox Point.

Greendale Downtown Market: 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays, June 21-Oct. 4. Market features 30 to 40 vendors from around the state bringing local produce, prepared foods, and handmade items for your home. 5710 Broad St., from Schoolway to Crocus Court, Greendale.

Greenfield Farmers Market: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays, May-October (no market May 25). Live music, produce, bakery, meat, dairy and ready-to-eat food items. Konkel Park, 5151 W. Layton Ave., Greenfield.

Jackson Park Farmers Market: 3 to 6:30 p.m. Thursdays, June 12-Oct. 2 (no market July 3). Visit the “Taste It Tent” and sample fresh fruits and vegetables, and learn how to incorporate them into your meals. On the Kinnickinnic River Parkway, near the boathouse in Jackson Park, 3500 W. Forest Home Ave., Milwaukee.

Oak Creek Farmers Market: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, May 10-Oct. 25 (no market July 19). Vine-ripened produce, cheeses, eggs, meats, honey, flowers and seasonal items, with artists and crafters, live music, a “Taste It Tent” and children’s activities. Drexel Town Square, 361 W. Town Square Way, Oak Creek.

Riverwest Market: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays, June 1-Oct. 26 (no market July 6). Neighborhood market with produce, honey, eggs, bakery, bread and handcrafted items. 2700 N. Pierce St.

Shorewood Farmers Market: 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays, June 15-Oct. 26. Live music and plastics-free market, selling Wisconsin-grown or produced food products. Access from the south end of Estabrook Park, 4100 Estabrook Parkway, Shorewood.

South Milwaukee Downtown Market: 3 to 7 p.m. Thursdays, May 29-Oct. 2. Produce, organics, arts and crafts, baked goods, sweet treats and live music. Bucyrus Commons, 1101 Milwaukee Ave., South Milwaukee.

South Shore Farmers Market: 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays, June-Oct. Farm-fresh and local food from regional vendors, with musical performances. South Shore Park, 2900 S. Shore Drive, Milwaukee.

Tosa Farmers Market: 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays, June 7-Oct. 11. Farmers and food producers bring a mix of produce, plants, meat, prepared foods and bakery. The first Saturday of each month a Makers Market features juried items from local artisans. Hart Mills parking lot, 7720 Harwood Ave., Wauwatosa.

West Allis Farmers Market: 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 3-Nov. 29 (no market Nov. 28). Wide range of seasonal produce is available throughout the year, with honey, eggs, fresh meat, baked goods, specialty foods, fresh-cut flowers and plants. 6501 W. National Ave., West Allis.

Whitefish Bay Farmers Market: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, June 14-Oct. 25. Produce, meats, eggs, cheeses, seasonal pies, hot foods, crafts, apparel and entertainment. Brookfield Farmers Market: 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturdays, May 3-Oct. 25. Celebrating its 35th season of bringing Wisconsin-grown products, dairy, candy, flowers, arts and crafts, community services and local business vendors to market. Brookfield Central High School, 16900 Gebhardt Road, Brookfield.
